Dr. Mitchell is the Founder and CEO of Inspire School Services (ISS), an educational consulting  firm that provides support services to school districts. As experts in school improvement, ISS specializes in leadership development; school improvement planning; and executive coaching  focused on strengthening school climate, instructional quality, and professional collaboration. 

Prior to Dr. Mitchell’s work with ISS, he served in leadership positions for most of his 28-year  career in public education. Before Dr. Mitchell’s appointment as Superintendent of the  Adelanto Elementary School District, he worked in the San Bernardino City Unified School  District (SBCUSD) serving as Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for four years,  and Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for five years. Before working in SBCUSD, Dr.  Mitchell served as an Assistant Superintendent of Instruction for the Los Angeles Unified School  District for three years, after a 13-year tenure in the Rialto Unified School District as a teacher,  principal, and director. 

Dr. Mitchell has served as an adjunct professor and has authored books, research articles, and  reports focused on practices to improve outcomes for African American youth. An  accomplished educator, Dr. Mitchell has been recognized for his work by educational and  community-based organizations, and is a sought-after school improvement expert, speaker,  and leadership coach. Dr. Mitchell and his wife live in southern California, and he is the proud  father of four adult sons, whom for Dr. Mitchell, serve as his “North Star.”
